Steel Casing for an Elevator Shaft hole
In some cases we are able to set elevator casings with cylinder and pit channels into, and on top of, our casing. This not only saves a lot of time, but using a single piece produces a better ride quality for the elevator.

New Hydraulic Elevator Jack Hole. PVC casing installed plumb and with bottom cap waiting for inspection prior to top cover to be glued in place. Elevator pit layout shows jack to be in the correct location.

Elevator Jack Hole-New construction.

This is an elevator jack hole drilled through solid granite at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We drilled a jack hole that was 24″ diameter x 50′ deep.

Often when coring rock we save a lot of time by removing the entire core, rather than changing tools, and drill back out with a rock auger or drilling bucket.
