New Elevator Installation in Existing Building Photos
New Elevator Installation
Finished Elevator Jack Hole. Pictured is a 20″ steel casing 1/4″ wall with a 2″ water seal ring being welded around the outside of the steel casing. Later a cement membrane was poured in place to seal off the outside of casing.
Installing steel casing for elevator jack hole, which we practiced using a full penetration weld. The small red unit in the back is a welding fume extractor and our casing is covered to prevent any fumes from escaping. The K.M. McRae Inc. team always practices the proper safety measures during projects; as you can see by the full face shield, gloves, tyvex suit and hard hat the welder pictured is wearing.
Occasionally we drill new holes inside existing elevator hoist ways, for future elevators, or older basement/drum, (cable type elevators), converting them into new safe, dependable, & protected in ground elevators.
